Biography
Ren Ruoxi, Artist, currently working in Shanghai and London.
Ruoxi Ren is a Shanghai-based artist. She holds a BFA from the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University and an MA from the University of the Arts London. She has been appointed as a Guest Lecturer in the Sculpture Department at the Central Academy of Fine Arts.
Her interdisciplinary practice spans interactive installation, AI art, painting, video, and performance. Her work has been presented at internationally recognized institutions, including the Victoria and Albert Museum (London); Ars Electronica (Linz); Asia Crypto Art Week; Guardian Art Center (Beijing); Hanart TZ Gallery (Hong Kong); and MadeIn Gallery (Shanghai).
Ren employs digital and physical media to interrogate the imperceptible structures of the Anthropocene—such as hyperobjects and other invisible systems. Her works often touch upon themes such as cyber feminism and animism.
